Hoover® Constellation™ Canister Vacuum Rises Above the Competition

New vacuum floats on air for effortless maneuverability

Cleveland, Ohio (May 15, 2007) – At a first glance, the new Hoover® Constellation™ Canister Vacuum looks a little cosmic with its sphere-shape and stainless steel exterior. But turn it on and the Constellation floats so easily from room-to-room that it truly becomes a vacuum that is out of this world.

“We’ve used technology to make domestic life a little easier and created a canister vacuum that moves with the user and not against them to provide powerful cleaning and effortless maneuverability,” said David Schiever, vice president of marketing, Dirt Devil. “Unlike with conventional wheeled canisters, the Constellation hovers over carpet and hard floors, so there is no need to tug and pull the vacuum around furniture.”

In addition to its ability to float on a cushion of air over multiple surfaces, the Constellation makes quick work of vacuuming with maximum suction. Equipped with a 12-amp motor that is powerful yet quiet and a TurboPower™ Nozzle, the Constellation provides superior agitation that delivers a deep-down clean. The TurboPower Nozzle also automatically adjusts to varying carpet thickness so users don’t have to fiddle with settings while moving around the house.

The Constellation also rises above other canisters with built-in features that make cleaning every corner of the house possible – including a full flight of stairs – all while leaving the Constellation at the bottom step. Conventional canister vacuums typically provide about 10 feet of reach; however, the Constellation’s telescoping wand adjusts from 23 inches to 39 inches and the vacuum’s stretch hose expands to provide 19 feet of cleaning reach to clean any nook or cranny in the home. Combined with its 26 foot power-cord, the Constellation makes every awkward spot in the house accessible, including high vents and under low furniture.

Whether cleaning floors, drapes or upholstery, the Hoover Constellation Canister Vacuum comes prepared for the job. For the ultimate convenience, a complete set of tool attachments come with the Constellation and can be stored either on the canister or the telescoping wand for easy access. Also, for delicate cleaning of drapes and upholstery, the Constellation features a suction regulator located on the grip handle.

Users can breathe easy knowing that the Constellation is fitted with an easy-to-change HEPA Filtration Bag that traps 99.98 percent of all dust mites, ragweed and common grass pollen particles down to 0.3 microns.

Stylish yet practical, the Hoover Constellation Canister Vacuum is made of durable yet lightweight steel construction that features a built-in furniture guard to protect furniture, walls and delicate hardwood finishes from nicks or scrapes.

The Constellation is as convenient to store as it to use. Both the hose and power cord wrap neatly around the canister, and the hose end attaches to the carry handle for a tidy storage package.

The Hoover Constellation Canister Vacuum is available at select retail locations nationwide at a suggested retail price of $199.99-$249.99. For more information on the product, technology or detailed model features, log onto www.hoover.com.
